Let them choose between a wave, a quick hello or watching from beside a parent. They can join a photo later if they feel ready.
Invite everyone to offer one brief birthday wish, then take optional small-group photos. Keep the greeting area open for children who want space.
Share the date, ZIP code, venue type, guest ages and access needs. Confirm the program, cost and availability with our team, and check venue permission with the operator.
A Camp Sherman birthday can work well with a compact visit plan: welcome the character, give the child time to respond, then invite guests to join a shared cheer or photos. Let the birthday child stay close to a parent or watch from the edge. These are statewide planning checks, not verified Camp Sherman venues or local policies. Confirm the exact facility and permissions with its operator. Ask us about a character visit and confirm program details, cost and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Oregon State Parks accepts reservations at parks with reservable group day-use facilities as well as many campgrounds. Check the specific facility and booking conditions rather than treating all parks or campsite reservations as group-event bookings. Ask the operator about hired entertainment and any additional permission before setting the party plan.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
