Invite guests to offer a greeting or join a group picture. Make watching quietly an equally welcome choice.

A relaxed Canistota party can begin with the character greeting the birthday child at the edge of the group, leaving time for a wave or a quiet introduction. Guests can join a simple photo or stay observers. For an outdoor gathering, make the weather plan part of the organizer's checklist: choose who monitors conditions and where everyone will go if plans change. The guidance here is statewide or national, not confirmation of a Canistota venue or local policy. Ask us about the theme, then confirm the visit format and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
