Careywood families planning a character visit can make the first few minutes unhurried: let the character greet the group, pause for children to get comfortable and invite them to join a simple cheer. Keep a small photo area clear and make watching an acceptable choice. For an outdoor party, statewide weather guidance supports planning a genuine indoor backup and assigning an adult to monitor conditions; it does not verify local venues or policies. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
