Keep the greeting plan simple enough to repeat indoors. Let the child know what is changing and stay with a familiar adult during the move.
Offer one group photo after the birthday child has had a chance to say hello. Participation can be optional, with a separate quiet photo if desired.
Ask us to confirm the requested theme, planned activities, cost and availability. A request for a date or ZIP code does not book or pay for a visit.
In Carthage, South Dakota, a clear plan can help the birthday child feel at ease even if the gathering needs to move. Tell the child where the character will greet them and which adult will stay close. Start with a wave or quiet hello, then invite guests to join a brief group cheer. Keep the photo moment flexible so it can happen before or after any change of location. Confirm the requested visit details with us and set a weather plan with your organizer.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
