In Chama, New Mexico, begin planning with the exact group shelter or gathering space in mind. A calm character greeting can start with a wave, followed by an optional photo for the birthday child and a simple group goodbye. Let guests watch or join in, and prepare the organizer's timing so children are not rushed. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Chama venues or policies. Ask us about theme-provider program details, cost and availability.

New Mexico State Parks directs visitors to specific park pages for group shelter reservations. Review the chosen facility's current conditions, operating information and alerts rather than applying one set of amenities to every park. Ask the operator about your gathering and hired entertainment before committing to the location.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup.
