Yes. Suggest a wave or short hello, with the option to watch instead. Ask our team what the requested program can accommodate.
Try one brief group greeting, then invite children to join a photo in small groups. Keep a quiet place available for anyone who wants a pause.

For a Chinook, Washington gathering, give the birthday child a little time to get comfortable before inviting a character into the group. A quiet wave or hello can start the visit; guests can join a short greeting and take turns in photos if they wish. Keep participation optional and let children observe from a familiar adult's side. Ask us about a character theme, and confirm the specific program, cost, and availability with our team. The facility notes here are statewide checks, not verified Chinook venues or local policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
