No. Offer a greeting and photo as choices, and let children watch from a comfortable distance.
Plan a welcome, a quick photo opportunity and one optional group activity. Confirm proposed program details with our team.
Review the exact facility's current conditions and ask its operator about your gathering. Confirm visit details, cost and availability with our team.
A Cliff celebration can make the character's arrival a small, child-led moment rather than a big entrance. Let the birthday child choose a wave or a little distance, then offer a photo and a brief activity that guests may join or simply watch. If you are considering a group shelter, check the specific facility's current conditions before settling the plan. When contacting us, include the gathering details; program ideas, cost and availability need confirmation with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New Mexico State Parks directs visitors to specific park pages for group shelter reservations. Review the chosen facility's current conditions, operating information and alerts rather than applying one set of amenities to every park. Ask the operator about your gathering and hired entertainment before committing to the location.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
