Choose a clear, uncluttered spot and ask the group to wait nearby. Keep a trusted adult close so the child can pause or leave the photo moment.

In Cumberland, Maryland, keep the character visit easy to follow: a brief hello, a child-led photo, then one simple group activity. A quieter child can watch first or join from beside a trusted adult. Before choosing a room or outdoor spot, check its rules directly; the Maryland example below concerns Baltimore only and does not verify Cumberland facilities. Ask us about a character theme and visit outline, then confirm program details, costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within Maryland, Baltimore city recreation centers provide room rental information. Baltimore directs families to their recreation center for room rental information. Check the actual room capacity, permitted entertainment and setup time rather than assuming any recreation center can host the same program. This example applies only to Baltimore's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
