Choose a clear greeting and photo area, and tell the character team the guest ages, count, timing and any access needs.
No. Availability, program details and cost need direct confirmation from the character team. A request is not a reservation.
At a Fair River, Mississippi gathering, a calm visit can help children enjoy the moment at their own pace. Have an adult welcome the character, then leave room for a simple greeting, a short group activity and optional photos. Children can stay beside a caregiver or watch first. If the party is outdoors, decide who will track the weather and where everyone will go if plans change. Confirm the character team's program, cost and availability separately from any venue arrangements.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
