Offer a choice: wave hello, join a group photo or watch from beside a trusted adult. Avoid asking children to perform or approach before they are ready.
Pick the photo location in advance and ask one adult to help line up willing guests. Keep the arrangement brief so children can return to play.
No. Ask us to confirm availability, costs and the proposed program. Also confirm with the venue that a hired character visit is permitted.
For a Fairdealing, Missouri gathering, decide first whether children will have room to greet the character without feeling crowded. A short hello, a choice to pose for a photo and an optional group activity can make participation easy to manage. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Fairdealing venues or local policies. Confirm the exact gathering space with its operator, then ask us about the character theme, program details, costs and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
