Let them stay beside a trusted adult and watch. They can wave, meet the character later, or skip the photo.
Tell adults that participation is optional, identify the meeting point, and share any child preferences with our team.
Confirm the visit program, cost and availability with our team. A ZIP code or date request alone does not reserve a visit.
For a Fieldsville celebration, create a gentle transition into the character visit: let the child see who has arrived, offer a friendly wave, then leave the next step to them. A photo or group activity can wait until the child is ready. The organizer can help by keeping the meeting place clear and the schedule unhurried. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Fieldsville venues or policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Vermont's Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation publishes site-specific occupancy information for its remote camping sites. If a plan involves one of these state-managed remote sites, check capacity, access, sanitation and drinking-water arrangements before proceeding. This camping guidance is not a birthday venue recommendation or permission for hired entertainment, and it does not describe every Vermont park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
