Let the child watch from a comfortable distance or wave without approaching. A caregiver can stay nearby, and the child can choose a photo later.
Offer a simple turn-taking plan for greetings or photos. Tell children they can participate, watch, or pass, and keep the route clear.
Ask the facility about booking steps and whether the activity is permitted. Ask us to confirm the theme, suggested program, cost and availability.
In Floyd, Texas, build the visit around a clear, unhurried greeting: your child might wave, listen to the character say hello, or choose a photo with a caregiver close by. Keep the activity area easy to reach and let guests take turns rather than gathering around at once. If you are considering a group facility, check its current booking process directly and describe the planned entertainment. Prepare an accessible indoor weather alternative, then confirm the requested theme, program, costs and date with the character team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Texas Parks and Wildlife directs visitors to reserve group facilities by phone rather than assuming every booking can be completed online. Check the current process for the exact group facility and describe the gathering and hired entertainment to the park. A phone reservation route does not establish that the proposed party activity is eligible or available.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
