Begin with a wave or quiet greeting, and let the child observe before deciding about a closer interaction or photo.
Invite willing guests to join a group hello or photo. Keep the invitation brief, and make watching a valid choice.
The cited guidance concerns group shelter reservations, not permission for hired entertainment. Check the specific operator's conditions before committing.
A Glorieta gathering can start with a small, personal moment before the whole group joins in. Let the birthday child choose whether to greet the character, wave from a trusted adult's side or wait for a photo. Guests can take part in a short shared hello without pressure. Prepare the meeting spot and visit timing with the organizer. Ask us about the requested costume theme, and confirm program details, costs and availability. Statewide planning checks do not verify Glorieta venues or local policies.

New Mexico State Parks directs visitors to specific park pages for group shelter reservations. Review the chosen facility's current conditions, operating information and alerts rather than applying one set of amenities to every park. Ask the operator about your gathering and hired entertainment before committing to the location.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup.
