A child's first meeting can set the tone for a Hanson, Massachusetts, character party, so keep that moment easy to understand. Tell the birthday child where the character will appear and let them choose a wave, a hello, or time to observe. For guests, plan one simple shared activity and offer a photo without making it a requirement. If the gathering is outdoors, decide in advance who will watch the weather and guide a move indoors. These are parent planning ideas, not confirmed program features or local venue policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
