For Harrison Township, New Jersey, begin by choosing the exact gathering location rather than assuming another municipality's facility rules apply. A published Edison parks directory is an example for Edison only, not evidence about Harrison Township venues. After confirming your own venue, make the character greeting manageable: offer a wave or a question, let children join at their comfort level, and take a group photo before optional individual pictures. Ask us about the requested costume theme and confirm program details, costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within New Jersey, Edison municipal parks provide the published park amenities directory. Edison publishes a park amenities directory with pavilion, picnic grove and playground fields. Use the directory to check facilities for your group, then ask the responsible venue about reservations and paid entertainment; an amenity listing does not reserve it. This example applies only to Edison's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
