Some city parks list pavilion rentals and open play space. Ask the Killeen Parks and Recreation office whether outside entertainers are allowed at the site you pick before you finalize a date.
At Conder Community Park, a pavilion reservation for 100 or more guests requires a separate special event permit. Ask the city about this step early if your guest list is large.
AA Lane Neighborhood Park lists a playground and an open play area. Confirm current equipment and access with the city.
Options include a seated show, a parachute game, a relay in the open play area, or a short walk on a trail before cake. These are possibilities to discuss with your character, not packaged services.
Our character visits start at one hour and can be extended in 30-minute increments, such as 1.5, 2, or 2.5 hours.
Killeen has several city parks and trails that families use for birthday gatherings, and the right choice depends on guest count, weather, and what you want the kids to do between visits from your character. Start with the park and confirm what the city allows before you settle on a theme.
Several city parks in Killeen list free shelters, picnic units, and open play areas. AA Lane Neighborhood Park lists a playground, basketball court, tennis court, free shelters, and an open play area alongside pavilion rentals. Conder Community Park lists a pond, skate park, soccer and softball fields, trails, and restrooms, plus pavilion rentals and picnic units. These facility lists can help you decide which park has room for both a seated show and running games. Check the current amenities with the city before you commit.

At Conder Community Park, reserving a pavilion for 100 or more guests means you will also need to apply for a special event permit after the pavilion reservation. If your guest list is near that number, ask the city about the permit timeline early so it does not delay your date. Smaller gatherings may not need this step, but confirm with the parks office.

The Andy K. Wells Hike and Bike Trail is listed as a 2.5 mile route with a jogging and walking trail, picnic units, play units, pavilion rentals, and free shelters. It may suit a party that mixes a character visit with a walk or a ride for older kids. The General Cavazos Regional Trail is listed only as a jogging and walking trail, so it is better for a casual outing than a set-up party.

Ask whether outside entertainers are permitted at the park or pavilion you choose. Ask which spot will have electrical access for a sound system and whether the play area can stay open during the show. Ask about shade and seating for the number of guests you expect. Ask what the backup plan is if weather moves in, and where guests would wait.
