Let the child watch first or choose a wave, high-five or brief hello. Never make participation a condition of joining the party.
Choose a clear spot with room to step away. Offer the child a photo with the character or a picture from beside a trusted adult.
Share the requested theme, date, ages, group size and preferred visit length. Ask us to confirm program ideas, costs and availability.
In Knightsville, start by planning the child's first few minutes with the character: a wave from a little distance, a choice to approach, or a quiet hello with a familiar adult nearby. Keep the visit flexible so children can join at their own pace. Before choosing a setting, check what the actual space offers rather than assuming a map listing is party-ready. Share the date, guest ages, preferred character theme and any sensitivities with our team; program details, costs and availability need confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
South Carolina State Parks provides an interactive map and filters for its park directory. Use the actual facility listings to check the space, seating, access and amenities required for your gathering. Ask the specific operator about reservations and hired entertainment; a map result is not a venue recommendation or approval for a party.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
