Let them enjoy the visit from a comfortable distance. Watching or waving can count as participation, and they can join later if they choose.
Choose the photo location in advance and ask an adult to invite guests in small groups, leaving room for children to step away.

In Laguna Vista, give the character visit a clear beginning and a gentle pace. The host can explain that children may greet the character, watch nearby or join a photo when they feel ready. Keep the birthday child's moment brief and early, then invite other guests to participate in small groups. Before the party, identify who will guide the character to the gathering and who will help younger guests. Contact us with a theme request, then have our team confirm the program, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Texas Parks and Wildlife directs visitors to reserve group facilities by phone rather than assuming every booking can be completed online. Check the current process for the exact group facility and describe the gathering and hired entertainment to the park. A phone reservation route does not establish that the proposed party activity is eligible or available.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
