In Manistee, Michigan, build the visit around an unhurried greeting and a choice: the birthday child may wave, take a photo or invite friends to join a simple group moment. For an outdoor party, make weather planning part of the organizer's job, not a last-minute group decision. The supplied guidance is statewide planning advice, not verified local venues or policies. Choose an adult to monitor conditions, arrange an accessible indoor backup and check the route with the venue. Ask us to confirm theme-provider details, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
