Let the guest of honor choose whether to wave, talk or watch first. A parent can stay nearby, with no pressure to join in.
Choose a simple photo spot and keep the group small at first. Tell the character team who should be in the birthday child's photo.
Ask us about the requested theme, program details, costs and availability. Confirm the venue's permission and the party schedule with the operator.
In Molalla, a character visit can be the birthday's featured moment without taking over the whole gathering. Plan a calm greeting first, then offer children a choice: join a short group activity or watch from beside a trusted adult. Leave time for photos with the guest of honor, and keep the route to the meeting spot clear. Statewide planning checks are useful, but city facilities and policies have not been verified. Ask the venue about permission for hired entertainment, and confirm program details, costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Oregon State Parks accepts reservations at parks with reservable group day-use facilities as well as many campgrounds. Check the specific facility and booking conditions rather than treating all parks or campsite reservations as group-event bookings. Ask the operator about hired entertainment and any additional permission before setting the party plan.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
