Yes. Suggest watching the greeting first, then joining a photo or activity only if they feel ready.
Offer one simple group activity, such as waving together or copying a few easy motions, and let guests opt out.
No. Ask us to confirm the program, cost and availability before making plans.
For a Monango gathering, make the first character moment easy to join: a friendly greeting, a chance for the birthday child to wave, and a pause for a photo if they wish. Then offer guests a simple choice, such as joining a short dance or watching from beside a grown-up. Share the child's interests and any comfort needs with the organizer ahead of time. Ask us to confirm program details, cost and availability; a ZIP code or date request does not reserve a visit.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
North Dakota Parks and Recreation lists two rentable picnic shelters at Grahams Island State Park alongside a separate activity center. Use this as one state-managed facility example, not a venue recommendation: confirm which space, facilities and access conditions apply to your plan. Ask the operator about hired entertainment before arranging the visit.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
