Start with a greeting from a little distance. Let the child decide whether to come closer, wave or take a photo.

In Monarch Beach, build the visit around a relaxed sequence rather than a packed agenda: a hello for the birthday child, a little time for photos, then one easy invitation for guests to join. Children can wave, dance briefly or stay with their grown-up and watch. Tell the organizer how many guests may want a turn and where the group will gather. If an overnight stay is part of the plan, check it separately. Ask us to confirm program details, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
California State Parks' reservation policies on this page cover overnight accommodations, including camping and lodging. If your plan includes an overnight stay, check the accommodation-specific booking and cancellation conditions. A camping reservation does not establish permission for a daytime birthday gathering or hired entertainer; confirm those separately with the relevant operator.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
