Offer the choice to wave, stay beside a caregiver, or greet the character later.

Give caregivers the meeting point and schedule, and confirm venue permissions plus visit details with the venue and our team.
In Monmouth Hills, keep the party flow unhurried so the character visit feels like a welcome part of the day, not a performance children must join. The birthday child might choose a wave first, followed by a photo with a caregiver nearby. Guests can take turns or simply watch. Check the exact gathering location and permissions before inviting everyone. Ask us about the requested costume theme and program options; confirm details, cost, and availability. Statewide planning checks are parent suggestions, not verified Monmouth Hills venues or rules.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within New Jersey, Edison municipal parks provide the published park amenities directory. Edison publishes a park amenities directory with pavilion, picnic grove and playground fields. Use the directory to check facilities for your group, then ask the responsible venue about reservations and paid entertainment; an amenity listing does not reserve it. This example applies only to Edison's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
