In Monson, Massachusetts, give the character visit a simple rhythm: a gentle greeting, a photo opportunity and an optional activity for guests. A designated adult can keep the plan moving while children decide how much they want to join. If the celebration is outdoors, make a practical indoor backup plan before the day and choose who will monitor conditions. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Monson venues or local policies. Ask us to confirm program details, costs and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
