Let the child choose whether to wave, approach or watch from a caregiver's side. Do not make a hug or close-up photo part of the plan.
Offer an optional group hello, then one brief activity suited to the children. Guests can participate together instead of being singled out.
Share the child's preferred name, interests and schedule with our team. Confirm the facility's booking route and entertainment permission, along with program details, costs and availability.
In Moxee City, Washington, a character visit can feel special without asking the birthday child to take center stage. Begin with a wave or a hello from beside a parent, then leave room for a photo when the child feels ready. Guests can join a short group greeting or a simple activity, with watching as an acceptable choice. Help the visit run smoothly by sharing the child's interests, schedule and comfort preferences with our team. Confirm the theme, program, costs and availability directly; a request for a date is not confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
