Start with a friendly group greeting and let each child choose to wave, approach or watch. A familiar adult can stay beside the child of honor.
Choose a spot with room for the child, character and a few guests without blocking the gathering area. Keep posing optional and brief.
Ask the site operator about the exact shelter, access and entertainment permission. Ask our team about program details, costs and availability; neither inquiry alone secures a booking.
For a New Richmond, Wisconsin gathering, plan the character's entrance around the child's comfort and the site's layout. A simple greeting, a chance to wave and optional photos can give the guest of honor a special moment without demanding a big reaction. State park information for Wisconsin describes one facility example, not local rules for New Richmond. Check the exact site before finalizing the plan, then ask our team about the requested character, program details, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Wisconsin DNR describes the reservable picnic shelter at its MacKenzie Center and its booking route through the State Parks reservation system. Treat this as one state-managed facility example: check the actual shelter, nearby facilities and conditions with the operator. Confirm permission for a hired character visit; the listing does not establish rules for every Wisconsin park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
