For Nichols, Minnesota, a good character visit leaves the child in charge of how much attention they want. Begin with a friendly greeting and allow the birthday child to watch from a familiar adult's side before choosing a photo or group activity. The organizer can keep the visit calm by identifying the gathering spot and asking guests to take turns. For outdoor plans, decide who will watch the forecast and where everyone will go if weather changes. Ask us to confirm character program details, costs and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
