Let the child watch from beside a trusted adult, wave or say hello when ready. There is no need to require a hug or close photo.
Offer one simple group activity, such as a song or cheer, and let children join, observe or pass.
Share your preferred date and visit ideas, then ask us to confirm the program, cost and availability. A request alone is not a booking.
For a North gathering, make the birthday child's comfort the first cue for how the character visit unfolds. A wave or a brief greeting can be enough; children who want more can take part in a group song or a simple photo. Ask an adult to keep the arrival area clear and guide guests in small turns. If considering a park or other outdoor space, verify its actual features and rules rather than assuming a listing covers party use. Program details, costs and availability need confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
South Carolina State Parks provides an interactive map and filters for its park directory. Use the actual facility listings to check the space, seating, access and amenities required for your gathering. Ask the specific operator about reservations and hired entertainment; a map result is not a venue recommendation or approval for a party.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
