Let them watch or wave from nearby. The character can greet the group without making the child the focus.
Have one adult guide guests to a single photo spot and keep participation optional. Give the child room to step out.
Ask our team about the requested theme, program details, cost and availability. Confirm venue permissions separately with the facility operator.
In Oates, Missouri, keep the character visit easy to follow: start with a greeting, then offer a short shared activity or time for photos. The child can join in, wave or stay close to a trusted adult. Ask us about the requested theme and visit format; details, cost and availability need confirmation. When choosing a gathering space, check whether it is an enclosed room or an open shelter, since booking processes may differ. Tell guests where to meet and ask one adult to help the child step away for a quiet pause if needed.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
