Yes. Plan for watching, waving or joining in, and let each child decide without pressure.
Share the date you hope for, setting, guest ages and any preferred greeting or photo moment.
No. Ask the space operator separately about hired entertainment, access and setup. Confirm visit details with our team.
For an Orcas gathering, make the visit easy to join without requiring every child to take part. The character can begin with a wave and let the birthday child choose whether to approach, pose for a photo or watch from a trusted adult's side. Keep a little space for guests to join a brief activity at their own comfort level. When asking us about a visit, describe the setting, guest ages and the child's preferred pace. Theme, program details, cost and availability need confirmation with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
