Offer an optional group wave or simple response, with watching as an equally welcome choice.
Confirm the venue's rules and setup window, then check program details, cost and availability with the theme provider.
For a Perryville, Maryland gathering, plan a welcoming first moment and leave room for the child to warm up at their own pace. A character can begin with a wave from a comfortable distance; guests may join a short group greeting or simply watch. Set aside time for family photos without making the child perform. Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within Maryland, Baltimore city recreation centers provide room rental information. Baltimore directs families to their recreation center for room rental information. Check the actual room capacity, permitted entertainment and setup time rather than assuming any recreation center can host the same program. This example applies only to Baltimore's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup.
