Offer a wave or watching from a parent's side as welcome ways to participate. Let each child choose whether to approach.
Choose a clear spot and have one adult gather children in small groups. Keep the photo moment brief so no one has to wait long.
Ask us about the requested character and possible visit format. Confirm program details, costs and availability with our team, and check venue permission separately.
In Pomeroy, Iowa, plan the character visit around a calm welcome rather than a packed schedule. Let children watch from beside a trusted adult or join in when ready. A simple sequence can include a wave, a brief greeting, photos, then one group activity if the children want to take part. Before choosing an outdoor spot, verify its rules and make a weather plan. Ask us about the character, visit format and any program details; confirm costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Iowa DNR publishes a deadline for changing cabin, lodge and shelter reservations. Review the current change and cancellation conditions before coordinating the gathering date with an entertainer. Verify the exact shelter or lodge and the proposed activity with the operator; a reservation change policy is not permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
