Let the character greet the group from a comfortable distance. Children can wave, answer a simple question, or stay with their adult until ready.
Ask one adult to call households forward in small groups. Keep the photo area close to the gathering point and leave space for children who need time.
Have your ZIP code, date, venue type, and requested theme ready when you ask our team. Confirm program details, cost, and availability directly.
A picnic-style celebration in Prentice calls for a simple plan that works whether children are ready to join in or prefer to watch. Begin with a friendly greeting, then offer an easy group choice such as a wave or a quick photo. Have the organizer keep the gathering point visible and the visit schedule flexible. Ask us about the requested character theme and possible program before making plans; details, cost, and availability must be confirmed. A date and ZIP request is not a booking.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Illinois DNR provides a directory of state park picnic locations. Use it to identify the exact state-managed property, then check its shelter booking process, facilities and access with the operator. A picnic listing is not a reservation or approval for hired entertainment, and it does not establish rules for municipal parks.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
