Offer a wave, a group hello, or a chance to watch. Tell guests beforehand that participation is optional and let the birthday child set the pace.
Pick a clear spot and have one adult help guests take turns. A quick child-and-character photo can leave more time for relaxed play.
No. Confirm hired entertainment permission and setup with the site operator, and ask our team to confirm program details, cost and availability.
For a Ravensdale gathering, make the special moment easy to follow: greet the birthday child first, offer a photo together, then invite guests to join in at their own pace. A quiet wave or watching from a parent's lap can count as participation. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Ravensdale venues or policies. If you are considering a state-managed location, check the facility type and reservation channel, then confirm event permission directly. Ask our team about character program details, costs and availability; sending a ZIP code or preferred date does not reserve or pay for a visit.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
