Begin with a wave and let the child choose whether to approach. A trusted adult can remain beside them.
Invite guests to join one at a time for a greeting or photo. Watching is also a valid choice.

Rocheport gatherings can feel more comfortable when the character visit has a clear start and no pressure to join. Invite the birthday child to watch, wave or greet the character with a trusted adult nearby. Keep photos and guest turns optional, and choose a simple meeting spot before party day. Share the expected group size, timing and access needs when you ask us about a visit. Program details, cost and availability must be confirmed; a date inquiry is not a booking.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
