Statewide planning guidance does not verify local facilities or policies. For an outdoor party, choose a weather decision maker and agree on an indoor backup and route before the gathering begins.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
