Not every park or room works the same way. Check with the park or venue about what is available and whether outside entertainers are permitted before you book.
Ask whether your date is open, what the reservation includes, whether outside entertainment is allowed, and what setup or power options exist.
Think about your guest count, the season and whether you want shade. A covered area can suit a smaller group, while open space works well when guests want to move around.
Salinas has a wide range of parks, so the right spot for a character visit depends on your guest list, the weather, and whether you want a shaded pavilion or an open lawn. This page helps you think through those choices before you contact a character entertainer.
The City of Salinas describes its parks as a foundation for residents of all ages to meet, play, grow and thrive. The parks offer a diverse mix of active and passive recreation, so you can match the setting to the style of party you have in mind, whether that means a quieter gathering with a character meeting families or something livelier with room to move. Ask the park or venue staff which areas are available for your date and whether they allow outside entertainers.

Before you commit to a location, ask whether the space can be reserved for your date, what the rules are for outside entertainment, and how long the reservation runs. Ask the character entertainer whether a shaded area or a sound source is needed, and how much room they will need to set up. Discuss whether activities such as photos, a story time or a few games fit the space you choose.
