In Short Creek, West Virginia, start with the setting: identify the exact property and gathering space before shaping the character visit around it. A gentle hello, a wave from the group and an optional photo turn can give children more than one way to participate. Ask us about the theme you are considering and possible visit ideas; program details, costs and availability must be confirmed. Statewide listings do not establish a local venue or permission, so check access and activity rules with the operator.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
West Virginia DNR describes lodging options within its state parks and forests and links to the official park directory. Identify the exact state-managed property, then ask whether there is a reservable gathering space suitable for your proposed activity. Confirm access and hired entertainment rules; a lodging listing does not establish group-event eligibility or approval.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
