For a South Chatham birthday, keep the plan steady enough that children know what comes next. A gentle character greeting can begin with a wave, followed by a short activity and optional photos. The host can help by sharing the sequence with guests and giving the birthday child a quiet place to pause. If the party is outdoors, choose a weather monitor and indoor destination beforehand. These are statewide planning checks, not verified city facilities or rules. Confirm theme, program details, costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
