Offer a choice to watch, wave or greet the character with a trusted adult beside them. There is no need to insist on a photo.
Choose one main child-focused moment, then allow a short group activity if guests are interested. Share the schedule with us when you inquire.
No. A requested date is not a reservation or payment. Confirm availability, program details and cost with our team.
For a Springville, Iowa party, make the birthday child's moment easy to anticipate: explain that the character will say hello, then let the child choose a wave, photo or quiet observation. A short story or a few guest questions can follow if the group is comfortable. If a shelter or lodge is involved, check its current change terms and confirm the planned activity with the operator before coordinating the visit date. When asking us, share your preferred schedule and any child-specific needs; cost, program and availability require confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Iowa DNR publishes a deadline for changing cabin, lodge and shelter reservations. Review the current change and cancellation conditions before coordinating the gathering date with an entertainer. Verify the exact shelter or lodge and the proposed activity with the operator; a reservation change policy is not permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
