Offer a wave or a greeting from beside a trusted adult. Let the child decide whether to approach or take a photo.
Invite guests to join one group photo or watch from nearby. Make participation optional for children and adults alike.
Check accommodation terms separately from gathering-space permission. Ask our team to confirm program details, costs and availability; a date request is not a booking.
If your Steele plans include an overnight stay, keep that arrangement separate from the birthday gathering itself. For the visit, give the child a calm first greeting and a choice to wave, listen to a short story or take a photo. Invite guests to join at their own pace. Share the child's preferences and the proposed schedule with our team. Confirm the requested costume theme, program details, costs and availability with us. Kentucky State Parks' FAQ describes reservations for lodge rooms, cottages and campsites. If the plan includes an overnight stay, check the current booking and cancellation conditions for that accommodation. Contact the actual park about separate gathering space and hired entertainment; an overnight reservation does not establish birthday eligibility or event permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
