Give the child a choice to approach, wave, or watch. A trusted adult can stay close while the child decides.
Choose a clear spot and offer a few family or small-group pictures. Keep the rest of the visit focused on a simple activity or conversation.
Ask the operator about the space, reservation conditions and permission for hired entertainment. Ask us to confirm the theme, program, cost and availability.
For a Stotts City party, decide how the birthday child wants the first moment to go before guests gather: a wave, a brief hello, or watching beside a parent. The character can then join a short photo moment and one easy group activity, with no need for every child to participate. If you are considering a Missouri state park space, distinguish an enclosed room from an open shelter and check its conditions. This is statewide guidance, not verified Stotts City policy. Confirm theme, program details, cost and availability with us.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
