Let them watch from beside a trusted adult. A wave can be the whole greeting, and a photo can wait or be skipped.
Offer one simple group wave, then let children take turns sharing a short birthday wish if they want.
Share the child's comfort cues, guest count and preferred timing. Confirm venue permission and ask us about program details, cost and availability.
A relaxed Strawberry celebration can give the birthday child time to decide how close they want to get. Start with a hello from a little distance, then offer a photo or a short moment with the character when the child is ready. Guests can join with a wave or a birthday wish rather than gathering around. The organizer can help by sharing the child's preferences and the visit's timing in advance. Check the gathering site with its operator before asking us about program details.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Arkansas's Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism identifies its State Parks division and links to park and group-facility information. Start with the exact state-managed property, then ask its operator about group day-use reservations, practical facilities and permission for hired entertainment. The agency overview does not establish birthday eligibility, a reservation or entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
