Let the child watch from a trusted adult's side, then choose whether to wave, talk or pose for a photo.
Choose a clear meeting spot, tell guests when to gather and have one adult help the birthday child take turns.
No. Ask us about the requested date, program details and cost; a request does not reserve or pay for a visit.
In Trisler, Kentucky, keep the character visit simple enough for the birthday child to set the pace. Start with a quiet hello and offer two choices: wave from beside a parent or join the character for a photo. If the child prefers to watch first, let that count as participating. Plan a short greeting, a few pictures, and one group activity such as a birthday wish or familiar song. Before asking us, decide the preferred visit length and who will help gather guests. Confirm program details, cost and availability with our team; a request is not a reservation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Kentucky State Parks' FAQ describes reservations for lodge rooms, cottages and campsites. If the plan includes an overnight stay, check the current booking and cancellation conditions for that accommodation. Contact the actual park about separate gathering space and hired entertainment; an overnight reservation does not establish birthday eligibility or event permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
