Keep the photo optional. A wave from beside a trusted adult or watching from the side can be enough.
Invite them to share a group hello, while allowing anyone to observe instead.
Confirm the actual space, access, booking conditions and whether hired entertainment is allowed.
In Unalaska, Alaska, avoid assuming that a reservation process for one recreation site applies to another. Check the exact gathering location, access details and rules with its operator before planning a character visit. At the party, let the birthday child choose a quiet hello, a wave from beside a parent, or time to watch first. Keep guest participation light with one shared greeting and optional photos. Ask the theme provider to confirm the program, costs and availability; a date inquiry does not reserve a visit.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Alaska's Refuge Cove State Recreation Site publishes an online reservation route for its picnic shelter. Check the specific shelter, date and access conditions rather than assuming every state park works the same way. Ask the operator about permission for a hired character visit; the reservation route alone does not establish that permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
