Invite children to join one group greeting or photo, while making it fine to stay with their adults.
No. A request is not a reservation or payment. Confirm the date, program details, and cost with our team.
A relaxed Union Hill party can begin with the birthday child choosing how to greet the character: a wave, a hello from a parent's side, or a photo when ready. Invite guests to join a simple group pose, while keeping watching as a welcome option. If you are exploring state-managed picnic locations, identify the exact property before planning around it. The supplied advice is statewide, not confirmation of Union Hill venues or municipal park rules. Ask us about a costume theme, then confirm program details, cost, and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Illinois DNR provides a directory of state park picnic locations. Use it to identify the exact state-managed property, then check its shelter booking process, facilities and access with the operator. A picnic listing is not a reservation or approval for hired entertainment, and it does not establish rules for municipal parks.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
