For a Vermillion, South Dakota gathering, give the birthday child a clear but flexible role in the character visit. They might lead with a wave, stand beside a parent for a photo, or simply watch before deciding. Keep the guest plan easy to follow, with a short shared moment and unhurried photo turns. No city venue details or rules are verified here. If your plan is outdoors, make a backup decision before party day, and check the requested character program, cost, and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue.
