Ask for a wave from a little distance, then let the child decide whether to come closer.
Offer a short shared activity, while making it clear that watching is also fine.
Confirm the venue's arrangements with its operator and ask us to confirm visit availability, costs, and program details.
A character visit in West Warwick is easier to manage when the birthday child has a trusted adult nearby and guests know the plan. Begin with a wave, leave room for the child to watch, and offer a short activity before photos. Guests can join in or stay on the sidelines; both are welcome. If the gathering is outdoors, assign an adult to track weather and guide any move indoors. Ask us to confirm details, costs, and availability for the requested character theme.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
