Let the child greet from beside a trusted adult or watch first. A wave can be a complete and happy first interaction.
Choose one easy-to-find photo spot and let guests take turns if they want. Keep a group picture optional.
Provide your date, setting, guest ages and preferred style. Ask our team to confirm the program details, cost and availability.
A gathering on York Road can feel more relaxed when the visit has a clear beginning and a short, flexible plan. Tell children when the character will arrive, then give the birthday child the first choice: a wave, a greeting with a grown-up nearby, or time to watch. Keep a photo spot ready without requiring every guest to pose. If a pavilion is part of your plan, confirm its booking status and rules separately from entertainment. Share your preferred date and visit ideas when you ask us; program, cost and availability require confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Pennsylvania DCNR publishes payment conditions for confirmed state park picnic pavilion reservations. Check the current confirmation and cancellation process before treating a requested date as secured. Confirm the exact pavilion, access and permission for hired entertainment with its operator; the pavilion payment and the entertainer's quote are separate arrangements.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
