No. Offer photos as an option, with a caregiver nearby for children who want support. Watching is also fine.
Share the location, arrival route and photo area with the service. Let guests know the character activity is optional.
Confirm the requested theme and program details with our team, along with cost and availability. Ask before building the schedule around them.
For an Asharoken party, make the birthday child's comfort the first part of the plan. A character can begin with a quiet hello and pause while the child decides whether to wave, chat or take a family photo. After that, invite guests to join one simple activity, such as a group pose or guessing game. Organizers can keep the visit manageable by selecting a clear greeting spot and sharing arrival details early. Ask us to confirm the theme, program details, cost and availability; a request is not a reservation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
